Truth Speak and the Shamanic Tailor

by Amanda Clark Reed

Talking about Shamanic Cranial Sacral Therapy and its advanced counterparts, Miasm Release Therapy and Sacred Journey Therapy, is not always easy. In order to communicate the nature of the work most effectively, the discussion will usually need to be tailored to a particular individual based on a multitude of factors. These factors will often included one's experience with energy work, one's religious or spiritual beliefs, as well as what the individual's goals and expectations are. First, however, it is important to access your own truth and learn to speak from your heart.

Speaking from Your Heart

Understanding what is true to you about the work and how it fits into your belief system is key to being able to express it to others. Receiving Cranial Sacral Therapy, reading, journaling, and talking to friends and family, all are great ways to develop that inner dialogue. Once you know where you stand with the work, you will be able to speak from your heart and the information will flow effortlessly.

Receiving Cranial Sacral Therapy is one of the best ways to assist you on your journey and springboard you onto your lifelong path of speaking from your heart. It first helps by allowing you to achieve an altered or meditative state that you can access in your own meditation practices. It also assists by facilitating the release of long held patterns and energetic blocks that may have, at one time, protected you, but now hold you back and inhibit you from speaking your truth. Above all, receiving Cranial Sacral Therapy gives you your own story of the work. When you profess your personal experience, you are giving the ultimate gift to whomever you are speaking: your open heart.

Reading and journaling are wonderful tools to use when determining how all the levels of Cranial Sacral work fit into your belief systems (or perhaps how the work has altered those systems). There is so much information out there in the form of magazine articles, books, and websites and each of these mediums are flooded with different perspectives. When wading through this sea of information, read everything with a grain of salt and pull from each the wisdom that resonates with you. After gathering all of this knowledge, the act of journaling, of putting to paper that which has touched you, can allow you to work through all these thoughts and ideas and, ultimately, bolster your newfound and ever evolving truths.

Perhaps the greatest way to develop your inner dialogue comes from speaking to others. After all, practice makes perfect when it comes to trusting your truth and speaking it freely. Speaking from your heart to supportive friends and family will not only help them understand your path, but also gives you the perfect platform to practice, expressing the kind of things you'll likely want to express in the future, all the while keeping your heart open. You will also be able to begin tailoring your information to the people you are most comfortable with, in a loving, nonjudgmental setting.

Tailoring Your Words

When you are active in yourself work and are successful in keeping an open heart, exploring the rest of these factors only act to shore your confidence and allow you to be comfortable with any situation or question. Each of these factors are not mutually exclusive and will often bleed from one to the next in any real life scenario.

People you encounter on any given day will tend to cover the entire spectrum as far as their knowledge and exposure to energy work. There will be individuals who have never heard of it, and there will be those who have been raised with it as a normal part of their life. When someone has never had any exposure to energy work, it is best to start as simple as possible with your explanation. You don't want to lose them in the first few sentences. You could begin by explaining that all things are a form of energy and that particularly, within the human body, energy is constantly moving and shifting. Energy can be moving without restriction, like on a day where you feel fantastic and everything seems to be flowing and going your way. There can also be energy blocks, like on a day where nothing seems to be working out and you feel sluggish. Energy throughout the human body varies greatly from low to high vibration. Low vibrational energy examples being emotions like guilt, anger, depression, or grief, and high vibrational energy like joy, gratitude, and the ultimate, love. It can be extremely supportive to let them know that the concept of energy can be a hard concept to grasp, but that once you feel it, it will be much easier to understand. It may also be useful to discuss the chakras, or perhaps to keep the discussion primarily to the physical aspects and benefits of Cranial Sacral Therapy. Meeting someone on their own level is often the best avenue towards possibly opening their mind in the future. When the person with whom you are speaking has more experience with energy work, it may be useful to begin by explaining how a Shamanic Cranial Sacral Therapist works. You can explain how the therapist draws upon unconditional love, or white light, to raises the vibration of the client in order to facilitate the release of energy blocks or low vibrational energy. You may also choose to explain that a Shamanic Therapist will often work in altered states, but that the therapist will always remain grounded enough to answer questions.

So where do you begin when someone feels that the work may be in conflict with their religious beliefs? These can be the most challenging discussions because you want to speak from your heart and profess your truth while honoring this person's convictions. A good strategy is to change your terminology a bit to use words that may be familiar to them within their organized religion. An example of this would be comparing what occurs in a session as prayer. The power of prayer is fundamentally the projection of unconditional love, or white light, to the person for whom we are praying. It can be very powerful, when someone is struggling with religious beliefs, to encourage them to connect with and stay in their heart, and assure them that there is no right or wrong, good or bad. There is room for the work in everyone's belief system if this what they choose. When someone feels they are more spiritual than religious, it is fun to share with them the possibilities for spiritual growth that exist when doing their self work. When anyone experiences things in sessions that they have never experienced before, or that seem to be contrary to their belief system, they have the exciting prospect of integrating these new experiences into their belief system, or altering their former truth to accommodate the reality of these new experiences.

Each person's separate and unique goals and expectations are invaluable in that they allow us to focus, or narrowly tailor our discussion for a truly appropriate, individual fit. When someone's main goal is relief from physical pain, it is important to cover all of the physical aspects of Cranial Sacral Therapy while still including some information on the energetic aspects. Such an approach allows the person to keep the intention open for their body to do whatever it needs to do in order to heal. It is amazing how a client with no intent to work energetically may have the most profound energetic experience. When you are open to all possibilities, there are no limits to what you can do. You will also encounter people who already see that the sky is limit for their physical and energetic growth and everything in between. Some of the most interesting discussions are those which involve someone who has read about the Shamanic Cranial Sacral Therapy and find that it resonates with them, but don't know exactly why. They have a sense of energy and that there are patterns in their life that are holding them back from where they want to be. You now have the privilege of filling in the blanks for them. You will see their excitement grow as they begin to understand how this work can help them break free from their energetic blockages and move forward in their life. What an honor to be able to be there with them for that moment. When an individual's goals involve an understanding and integration of all the levels of Shamanic Cranial Sacral Therapy, they have given you a truly freeing opportunity to speak your truth about the work in your own words, directly from your heart, no tailoring needed.

Professing your truth about the work you practice or receive is a gift to yourself and the world. When you speak from your heart, you keep your heart open and allow energy to flow freely. When others hear your truth, you give them the opportunity to learn and grow. You give them the gift of unlimited possibilities.
